Where should I get new tires Joe’s Slinger Service Slinger WI

Nowadays you can buy tires absolutely anywhere at all different prices.  How do you know where to purchase them from and what you need?

Buying tires from the repair shop you use to do your vehicle’s maintenance such as oil changes, brakes etc. is the best place to purchase tires from.  Why?  Tires are part of the regular maintenance of your vehicle.  Tire rotations, balancing, alignment and inflation will help you get the full life out of your tires and purchasing tires from the same facility ensures you get the right tire for your driving needs.  Your current repair shop is familiar with your driving habits and can help you decide on which tire to buy.  For instance, if you put on 10,000 miles per year or less, in five years you will have no more than 50,000 miles on your tires.  If you purchased 80,000 mile tires, in five years you would be left with tires that still had a large percentage of usable tread left, but they would be too old to be driving on them.

You also need to consider who is putting on your tires.  Big box stores are typically less expensive just due to their purchasing power, but their staff is unqualified.  WHO is putting on your tires?  Are they inspecting your vehicle’s suspension for safety and wear before installing the new tires?  Chances are big box stores hire a “grunt” to throw the tires on and get you out the door.    All vehicles should be aligned with every new set of tires.  Worn suspension components and misaligned vehicles not only will shorten the life of your tires, your vehicle may have a safety concern that should have been brought to your attention by a qualified auto technician.
